I have a 1998 Chimera that is back on the road now after sitting in a garage for nearly 10 years. To get it road worthy I took the car to a TVR specialist. One piece of work outstanding is the radiator. Do I get it reconditioned / recored or do I replace it entirely?
thanks for you insights

Re-core/recondition it IMO there is also an improved core for these for a small improvement although the stock rad size core is just fine wink

I took mine out when refurbishing under the bonnet. It hadn't done many miles but was over 10yrs old. I took it to a radiator specialist who pressure and flow tested it for me. Gave it a clean bill of health and a coat of black paint, all for £30. Obviously, it depends how far away you are, I used this place:

There's likely a radiator specialist near you. They said they could re-core it if it failed the test. Owners often put in aluminium radiators but they aren't any more effective, just lighter!

I took the opportunity to remove and replace the fan cowling shroud bolts (rusted up) and re-paint the shrouds too.

It says you paid £24k for the car on your profile so I'm surprised it needs any more work on it already! eek

Pretty much what I did, though took the opportunity to replace the fans at the same time
