Hi all.

Hoping someone can help. My MIL has a park home, looking to decorate and change the interior colours. Currently the construction is interior ply panels, and painted blown vinyl wallpaper.

The wall paper tends to lift where the panels join. An inherent design flaw caused by flexing and expansion/contraction through the seasons. We've improved things by running a sharp knife down the paper a pasting, but not a perfect solution.

Anyone have any tips, she's pretty fussy and likes a good finish.

Strip the paper off and do it properly. If it's lifting it'll never be good

How about using lining paper run horizontally? It might provide a base for the paper.

That maybe worth a try.

Doing the lining paper horizontally is a good idea. Buy a decent quality paper too. Anything from certain Bad Quality suppliers is likely to be thin and low quality.
