What did your baldness journey consist of?

Was it super rapid or did it take many years? I've always been intrigued by young blokes who are fully bare up top. It must have happened extremely rapidly.
At the age of 44 or whatever I am my hairdo has just started to go.
If it was a widow's peak type thing I'd be perfectly content as it's a good look, however it's only going in the very centre of the hairline so I'm going to appear like I've trepanned myself or been shot in the forehead from a helicopter.
It's really irritating to still have a basically full head of hair with a small percentage that makes it look utterly ludicrous. Guess it's time to get rid of it all.

Always had a bit of a forehead anyway, dome head etc, lads are bstds 
20 ish,
then started thinning on top 27 and pissed off one day shaved it off no1,everyone was impressed as I'm lucky my head/face suited apparently
I've now got a monk band if I leave it a week. Still shave no1 just looks bald (blond hair).

I’ve been thinning since I was about 24, I’m now 32 and have long embraced the fact that o have to clip my hair about once every 9 days or I look like a monk, a look I can’t quite pull off.
It’s pretty annoying because it’s only thinning on top around the crown, I’m not receding and the rest grows quickly.
I did manage for a couple of years by growing it a bit longer but went back to clipping short because it was starting to look look bad.

That almost sounds like it's worth doing a mini combover with a subtle dab of glue. I don't really mind baldness all that much, it's the annoying dabbling in the middle where you're neither nor that's a grind.
I was having a cigarette outside work when I was 26 and saw the light beaming off my forehead like the colgate smile flash, I'd been trying to pretend I wasn't receding that badly but seeing that as I was chatting to a fit coworker left me pretty deflated, I went home that night and shaved my head.
I stood there with all my hair in the sink feeling pretty low when my mrs walked in, she said OMG what have you done, stood looking with her face scrunched up then said "you're quite ugly really"
Still, she's an alcoholic now that sits and pisses herself the last I heard so thats nice.

Any of you slapheads considered that route out of interest?
I'm not particularly big on how things look, but I am very big on how things feel and right now I'm not liking the feeling of bare skin rubbing on my hats where it wasn't before. Maybe I'll get used to it. It seems a lot of people are going for a hair transplant these days.

I know transplants are 'natural' but the people who've had them often have a slightly off kilter look up there. I'd consider it all the same but would feel very silly if everything else fell out with a few months leaving a sad caterpillar at the front.
I'm also incredibly sweaty so the idea of doing without the mop up there is an unappetising one.

A line started appearing when I was 17, it got shaved off on #0 and have never tried to grow it since (30 now)
Apart from between 12-17 I have always had it on #2,#1 or #0 anyway so it wasn't strange for me. Bloke at work has had that kinda comb over look for a few years (would say hes late 30's) after the office benter advise him to shave it off he walked in the other day with #0 which kinda looks silly on him.

The hair remaining up top is long. I have a beard you could lose a sheep in. Most of my body has fuzz sticking out of it. Why do men grow ear hair as they age, is it natures way of protecting our ear drums?
If I find a 1mm hairlet sticking out of my ear I'll chase it all night with some tweezers until I get it or pass out from exhaustion.

Had very fine hair as a child which was quite thick IYSWIM. Everyone said I had a fine head of hair. Lasted until early twenties, went thin pretty quickly over a few years so started with the #1 all over. Never been upset or annoyed about it, just a fact of life.
My father is 86 and has a full head of hair, like his father my paternal grandfather. Maternal grandfather was a slap-head.
