A bit of a laugh - if every 1mph over the limit is 5% greater risk of an accident, if you go over 20mph over the limit it means a 100% likelyhood of a crash? so that copper doing 159 must surely be dead?? proves the nonsense spouted by Break/T2000bc* is just that..

Erm, I think you're guilty of using the same mathematics as the scamera partnerships. 100% increased risk of an accident doesn't mean you die - it simply means you're twice as likely to have an accident.
Although I don't actually agree with their original claims anyway.
The 1 mph/5% thing originated with an old study that took small samples from completely different environments and showed this correlation between speed and accident rates. Scientifically, it was nonesense because they didn't address the fact that the samples were from different countries taken years apart.
I think the same is true of the 'speed causes one third of deaths' myth, which originated from some highly questionable original analysis and has been repeated so often since that it is starting to be taken as 'known' fact.

That comes from TRL 323 IIRC. Been disproved so many times it's untrue.
