Just a reminder to anyone watching the Monaco GP that 'Official Live Timing' lap data is available via a Java app at the Official Forumula 1 site at www.formula1.com

Brings a whole new dimension to the race.

(This isn't an advert - I'm in no way associated with Bernie Ecclestone's empire. )

Don't forget about this, it's fantastic if you have a laptop or a PC near the telly

Much better to watch the GP on TV and have these stats on your laptop at the same time.

Agree, that way you don't have to wait for James Allen to tell you something has happened, probably nearly half a lap ago!

And you know which cars they are actually talking about.

It is so much better! Now it would really help for Le Mans

It's just cool not having to rely on James Allen, I'm sure he spends half of his time not looking at what's going on.

It's great, isn't it? I don't think I'd enjoy a race half as much without it.

Jon,

It's fantastic, wireless laptop on the sofa and watching it live on the TV, a great link, thank you.

Yep - that's how I do it too. An ancient Thinkpad 240 and a wireless card is what I use and entirely sufficient for the job. It sits quite safely on the wide & squashy arm of my armchair.

One thing that I find amazing is how long it takes JA or MB to comment on something that's happened i.e Shumacher is in the pits, it tells you on the computer and then they eventually get around to telling you.

I might apply for a job there!

I found this last season - certainly keeps the race alive in the adverts!
