light pods problems

Two weeks ago one light pod got stuck and I pushed down with my hand to close it. Since then when I switch the lights on that light pod comes up only half way. I tried to raise it turning the manual knob but to no avail.
A funny thing is that when I switch the lights off the pod first goes up all the way and then goes down all the way.
Does anybody knows what's the problem and how to repair it?

Sounds like the operating link that's attached to the motor has been turned onits shaft. The shaft and link have flats on them to aid location but they're only a bit feeble. You probably rounded-off the flats on the link.
The gear inside the motor is only made of nylon and pushing the pod down is liable to strip that, if it doesn't wreck the link first - but it sounds like you may have got away with it and just need to reposition the link and nip it up.

Is for this work enough to take the lighs out from the pod or do I need to take the whole light pod out?
Also I'm trying to follow Steve Heath book about removing the light and the pod but I'm unable to locate the fuses box in my 84 350i. I can see wires going to the passenger side but I can't see any cover in the gloves box and passengers footwell. Do I have to dismantle something to get access to the fuses box?

Just remove the headlight unit to begin with by removing the self tapping screws holding the lamp ring to the pod.
The Fuse panel, Relay board and ECU on my 84 350i are in the passenger footwell below the glove box. Just 'spring' the upholstered panel above the passengers shins and it'll pop out and hinge downwards.
If it's anything like mine, the diagrams of the v8 fuse panel and relay board in the bible will bear little relationship to your car...
