Discussion
I'm quite athletic and go to the gym 3-times a week to lift weights only. Zero cardio work.
I'm 5'9, 68kg and did my first ever run out of curiosity as my friend has started training for 5k's. I managed it just shy of 24mins which I know is a half-decent time considering zero training. I want to get this to 20mins but want to keep my gym routine to the 3 sessions.
Below is my gym routine with the newly added in running routine. Is this suitable? I can't think of any better way plus each gym routine takes almost 1.5-hrs so I don't want to combine both gym and running on the same day.
FRI: Gym body workout
SAT: Easy consistent paced long distance run (10k)
SUN: Gym body workout
MON: -
TUE: Gym body workout
WED: Short distance run with "goal pace" 800m drill exercises
THU: -
Any suggestions would be great otherwise I'll give the above ago.
