Sorry to sound like a numpty but I am stuck in california for a few weeks dreaming about the car and need to pass the time! Last time i did any "high speed driving" it was in france and I noticed some vibration at 130kmh+. Do you think ny wheels needs balancing (it was that type of sensation). Can any tyre garage jack the car? Is there any special instructions I have to ask them, ie only life one side at a time? I know at the garage they always lift all 4 corners? Should I get them to do it?

If it is just balancing and not alignment then any decent place can do it. Get them to use one of those lifts where there are 4 arms which curve out to sit under the chassis, or a full ramp with the MOT stylee jacking thingy that lifts one end or the other under the centre once the car is in the air.

You can jack under the corners behind the front/in front of the rear wheels, but be careful. There is a plate on the chassis on the corner where a trolley jack can make contact. Just make sure that not extra stress is placed on the car once it is lifted. This is not the strongest part of the chassis, but people have been jacking at these points for years (I always did with my Chimaera and the chassis was definitely less strong - but then I always shoving an axle stand under the chassis asap too).

S'funny - I get a lot of vibration at similar speeds - 90-110mph. I've had the wheels balanced several times with no improvement - but the front tyres need replacing due to previous wear from tracking problems, so maybe that'll help.

Regards to jacking (snigger) I had a tyre change at kwik fit some time ago and they had a small trolley jack that fitted under easily. You can jack on the transverse chassis tubing that runs across near the middle of the car

Well I am back. Took it over to the TVR Centre in barnet and they sorted it. All 4 wheels were out and as usual they did a great job!
