Finance experts help needed-PPI

And finance advisors on here able to give me a wee bit advice on PPI?
Basically I’m half way through a mortgage, 12 years left. Iv been paying MPPI since the beginning of the mortgage. I know the end date for claiming is coming around soon and I’m wondering whether or not I should try and make a claim. My reasoning behind it being I was a first time buyer 13 years ago and she pretty much told me I wouldn’t get the mortgage without purchasing this. I do however think it’s a reasonably decent thing to have. theres only one source of income coming into the house so I’m wondering whether or not to claim half way through a mortgage.

Generally claiming PPI when relating to a mortgage is a hard one to win. Were you sold the mortgage directly by the lender or via a broker? In my experience when its been via a broker your chances are slim at winning a claim as they were unregulated before 2005.

With the amount of news coverage mis-sold PPI has had over the past 5-10 years during which you have continued to pay for MPPI, why do you think you would have a valid claim for being mis-sold?

Basic question that will most likely be the first thing asked if you started a claim
