I should probably be able to work out the following minor issue for myself but my brain is technicaly limited!

Neither of the boot lights or the power socket illumination are working on my Volante. I can see from the handbook that these 3 items (and nothing else) are linked to fuse 17. The fuse appears ok and I checked one of the light bulbs, which also looks fine.

Is it a solenoid that tells the lights when the boot has been opened and, if so, is it easy to access and check? Or could the cause be elsewhere.

Car interior lights all appear to work as they should and the battery shut off switch, in the boot, is illuminated.

Many thanks.

It will be a switch that tells the lights to come on - this my be stuck. Look for a black plunger type switch (bit like the top of a retractable biro) that contacts the boot lid somewhere, and see if its stuck down.

Thanks for the quick reply Ken.

I did have a look for such a switch but didn't see one. I'll take a closer look.

I have never noticed any such switch on my car. I think the boot light must be linked to the boot locking mechanism.

Ahh OK - I have spotted the bonnet plunger one but actually not the boot. It might well be neater and attached to the latch mechanism so you may need to remove the slam plate by the latch to find it - maybe a connection loose there.

If it's the same as a Vantage (they share the same boot latch) then the switch for the boot lights is built into the latch mechanism.
