Took a tyre with what I thought was a puncture into KF this morning, there was what looked like a small steel spring sticking out of the centre tread and it wouldn't hold air.

Go back to pick it up this afternoon to be told it wasn't a puncture but they had cleaned the rim, sealed and refitted the tyre, replaced the valve and balanced the wheel.

The worst bit was when I went to pay they said there was no charge as it wasn't punctured.

Robbing b*****ds, what is the world coming to.

Jesse must be one of the about 3 good kwick fit branch's in the country
Most would have said it's not repairable and needs new pads as well

Its a new tactic to build trust and lull you in to a false sense of security.

You'll go back for a couple of tyres and they'll get you for four tyres, brakes pads, discs, shocks and an exhaust.

Definitely a case for KOMPENSHAYSHUN as you did not get the service you expected.

No danger of that, I have a very good independent place who I have been using for the last 30 years but unfortunately closed on Sundays.

We have several around our way but Kwikfit are the only one open Sundays.

They are not my 'go to' place, but the two times I have used them in the last 5 years have both been good- one aircon regas-verdict, we have tried, but knackered, nothing we can do- no charge, and the other an emergency repair of nail in tread which was quick and a fair price.

I took my racing saloon car to Kwik fit recently to get the rear toe in accurately set for the next race at Brands Hatch.

After unloading it from the trailer, getting them to adjust it as requested on their ramps using their digital tracking-alignment tool, and printing off the new set up now on the car, they refused to take any payment.

Good service. True story.

I had a slight issue with KF recently

Whilst doing another simple job ( AC recharge )

They then informed me that they had topped up the Coolent for me .

Now , I never asked them and must admit I thought it was a daft thing to do as they had not asked my permission . In these days someone could go ape and claim all sorts .

Made a call to HQ . Told them the situation as a constructive criticism thing . They agreed and as a good Will gesture refunded my AC charge.

And I always use KF for AC gas as they have great fool proof machines .

My clutch cable snapped at a BP, next to a Kwik Fit. As it’s a classic I had a spare cable but stupidly had left my large spanner at home.

I popped in the KF, asked if I could borrow one. I left a £20 note as a deposit, despite manager saying it was fine. 20mins late gave tool back and was on my way.

There is a big shiny balancing weight on it so it should be ok. But if not it doesn't affect me, its my better half's car and she probably wouldn't notice if it was shaking itself to bits.

I couldn't get hold of my usual indie as he was booked solid.
I needed a service and a ticket and the only place that was available was my local Kwikfitcry
I booked in under duress, but the hearltess bds only went and did a cracking job and passed my shed. They even stayed open a little later as I was delayed by train.

Last two times I went into KF they sold me the thing I went in for and didn't try to sell me anything else. I know it's some new marketing wheeze they're using, I haven't figured out how it works yet, but I'm sure there's something sinister behind it.

Another +1 for Kwik Fit.

One time I went in there because I needed to change the spare wheel on an XJ and I couldn't get the old wheel off. They changed the wheel, topped up the air in all 4 tyres and refused payment. I gave them 10 quid beer money.

Another time I needed a new tyre for a Lexus GS - they were the only place that had the tyre in stock and could do it same day. Did a good job for a reasonable price, no upselling or other nonsense. The "waiting room" was pretty grotty but I don't care about that.

I know it's fashionable to knock them, but for basic/generic stuff I am something of a fan.

I think collectively we should write a letter of complaint to Head Office, this level of customer service is not what we have been warned to expect from them.

Same here. Tyre not holding air and took it in to get fixed. KF gave it a once over and found no issues. Gave it back inflated and no charge.

I'd topped them all up the day before. Reckon I just didn't inflate it properly.
