Pulling out of buying a car from a 2nd hand dealer

Morning all,
Went to see a car last week and was happy with it with a few minor points to be addressed - new tire and a couple of tiny bits.
Once all was agreed I paid a deposit of £1,000.00 over the phone and the car is to be delivered to me this week. I haven't signed anything and there is no mention of "non refundable". The only thing that ties me to the car is an e-mail stating that I have transferred the deposit.
I popped over this weekend to see the car with the wife, the dealer was closed but the car was outside so I could take a good look at the outside. Whilst doing so I noticed a few marks that have appeared or more likely I didn't see last time.
Am I in my rights to reject or do I risk losing my deposit?

Or are you getting cold feet about the car as a whole?
Unfortunately I think its going to be a struggle, your grounds for rejection are pretty weak and from a lot of experience 2nd hand OMO dealers don't like being in their eyes 'messed about'.
No harm in trying and report back, legally they have the chance to make right the vehicle first before it can be rejected, however if you viewed it and were happy then its going to be tricky. Its a little different with a major mechanical fault or botched repair work!
If you really aren't happy the worst case the deposit should be transferable in a reasonable world, however............

What’s the couple of bits?
Is it worth the potential hassle of having to look for another car and maybe deposit loss if it’s maybe a couple of smart repairs or dings removed?
A used cars always going to have some show of use.
Maybe on collection point them out saying you asked for those to be done and come to an agreement!?
I once had a brand new car arrive with a ding in the passenger door. The car was delivered from a dealer about 4hrs away so I just arranged for a mobile guy to whack it out and they sent a cheque for the amount 40 quid or so....simples!
