Sat behind one this morning in silver, to me it looked a mess with the black roof, bizarre twin central brake lights, squished black engine panel vent and slotted lights. Oh and then there’s the vast expanse of black at the bottom - it completely ruins the lines of the car.

The rest of the car looked good and in keeping with the usual mild next generation tweeks Porsche designers do.

Am I the only one not liking this yet?

I’m also struggling with the new design

Just needs the sport design rear bumper IMHO.

I may be slightly biased, but the rear looks fine in the flesh IMHO.

Hints of the 928 rear end.

For me the Sports Design knackers the overall design.

I believe the bizarre twin central brake lights are supposed to be the '11' from '911', with 9 slats either side of the 11.
It was also explained to me that the central brake light had to be a single unit, so the 11 is actually linked together to comply with the single light rule.

You could say it's a bit OTT, or I suppose even bizarre right enough.

From the cars I have seen out in the wild, I think black looks best due to the masses of black plastic. Overall I find the car very, very big

They all went a bit portly and ugly after the 997 for me.

I remember the first time I saw a 993 and thought how cool they looked. Don’t remember 996 impact at all, but I do recall seeing a 997 for the first time and thinking how much better it looked, same with a 991 - instantly loved it.

Can’t see myself ever being tempted by one of these; bizarrely I love the latest two iterations of the Panamera so what does that tell you lol

I had a look at one for the first time last week.

The back end is fine, it’s the gaping black plastic at the front that I don’t like. You need the sport design front apron, at a bargain of what £1,800?, to tidy it up.

That said like the more ‘muscular’ wings and bonnet creases.

Saw a black one last week which looked good I thought, definitely better in darker colours.

It does look big though.

I was told the idea behind the brake light is that it looks like an old fashioned "pause" button.

I'll keep the 928. 992 looks too big....front arches don't do it for me either. IMO 991 a much better looking 911.

I’ve been trying to recall what the rear of the 992 reminded me of. It feels a touch bottom heavy and plastic rich...

Now as heavier rumps go this is good...

Agreed - it really transforms the look.

I really don't want a number plate stuck in the middle of the rear end.

Down low, OK, but not slap bang in the centre of everything.

Don’t like it ; the rear is huge and without form and front is a riot of black plastic : car works best in dark colours so the plastic is more tonal.

Sounds very poor too .
