Any known faults on this model, apart from thirst

I will do little annual mileage, so just want to know if this will be a reliable drive

Given that it uses the 157 engine, I'd want to check out the timing chain rattle issue.
If you buy one made in 2013 or later you should have the modified tensioner and chain.

I’ve had a 2014 ML63 for the last 3 years, bought it at 5k miles and now on 50k miles. The most reliable car I’ve owned in recent years. Had one issue with the compressor for the suspension (sorted under warranty) other than that everything I’ve spent on it has been on consumable parts. Great car as well. All that said I’m a sample of only one....
