Mysterious Bongs on my V8 Vantage 4.7 Roadster

I'm already investigating an issue (see forum entries relating to loss of all instrument displays) and monitoring my car's symptoms with and without various fuses in place.
During this process, I occasionally get 3 bongs - followed by nothing... so are they starting to warn me of something that was so transient it went away again? Or am I missing some secret code...
Any ideas please?
