2mm accuracy is a worry. That's a big difference on a long throw.

The one 5 star review looks fake too. From me xia

My other option would be a floor stand that I get out and put away after every use. I'm more worried about it maybe being a fire hazard

I don't think fire hazard is a real issue. The Chinese make a lot of GOOD stuff as well as cheap crap stuff :-)

I'm guessing you don't want to ceiling mount your PJ as it'll look unsightly?

I cna tell you that if you buy a white one, you don't notice it after a while. I've a black PJ and it just becomes a fitting, like a light, after a while.

I assume you have a suspended ceiling? Or a BIG void between the upper floarboards and the lower ceiling?

The room will have a vaulted ceiling, I like the idea of the projector being out of the way while not in use. The screen will drop down in front of the large window.

Get a good quality projector with a decent lens shift and you shouldn’t need to come down from the ceiling to far.

Or go for a longer throw lens and mount on the back wall.
