On my car (which is far from concourse) it has some black trim on the bumpers which I want to paint white to match the rest of the bumper. I'm going to apply a coat or two of plastic primer first, and then some filler primer to make the textured black part smooth.

The question I have though is should I flatten the plastic primer before applying the filler primer? Or should I leave it and just apply the filler primer afterwards?

Profile it as best as you can first

Sorry, misread it while I was half asleep. Thought you said primer over filler!

Don't flat it, just apply the next coat as soon as it's cured and is still clean.
