Motorway speeds to be raised

Hmmmmm.....
Obviously none of you read the People !
According to this esteemed tabloid Motorway speeds will be raised to 80 mph by the end of the year
Variable speed limits will also be introduced according to congestion rain etc. It is also said that some 30mph limits could be raised to 40mph when conditions allow.

Wishful thinking, May fools joke or what?

Thats great. How many times have we all driven past a sign saying 'fog' when there is no such thing.

Or how about 'warning - spray'? If people need obvious things pointing out to them, I fear for humanity.

If the report is true it's nothing more than tinkering about, more complexity and probably not very helpful at all.

Sorry and all that, but it's not the way to proceed.

So it is true that Labour have stolen the Tory manifesto.

I fear the raising of the speed limit on the motorway, because it opens the flood gates for zero tolerance enforcement. How is it going to benefit us? If there's alot of traffic you won't get near 80 anyway. If there's no traffic, at the moment, you can do 90mph without to much worrying....at worst and a trafpol pulls you, it's three points fixed penalty. If they put cameras every where having raised the limit to 80mph, and tune them to get you at 83mph, it makes it worse IMHO.

Nah.

80 mph plus 10 % plus 2 mph = 90 mph.

Which means that instead of booking folks for doing over 90 mph in a 70, they will have to start booking folks for doing 100 mph in an 80.

Still court at 100 mph ? I very much doubt it.

Court will have to start at 110 mph.

All seems good to me.
