waking car up after winter storage and I find the battery is dead , so I pulled out the post in the fuse box and attempted to jump it so I could open the front lid and replace the battery . Power is there as the alarm is triggering the hazard lights but both front and rear lids will not activate . I tried putting in the ignition key and the key will now not come out. Any ideas what I can do next ?

Thanks for any help
Rob

Try disconnecting the power source to the fuse post and kill the power to the entire car.

Then reconnect the power. Be sure you have a good source of 12V power and the post connection and the ground connection are both good.

You need to insert the key and turn it to the on position to silence the alarm. Hopefully you don't have to start the engine.

Maybe even before you try the key you want to open the front trunk.

You want to open the front trunk as soon as you can so you can get to the battery and replace it.

Then after you have the trunk open try the key.

If this doesn't work kill the power which should quiet the alarm. I hope.
