What’s life about?
Discussion
I would use the car analogy - 30+ years ago I had a Chevette and I wanted to know how every bit worked, so I could analyse and fix it. Now I’ve got an incredibly complex Skoda Superb and I just enjoy the ride.
For me, life is a delicate balance between making the most of it for me, and trying to do good things for others. It’s far too complex for me to understand.

Children.
Not for everyone of course but those who don’t will never understand.
We’re programmed to want to multiply and the satisfaction you get from doing so is immeasurable.
The experience of bringing them up and improving their being rewards you even further, building a bond in family.
If one man can achieve greatness, his family can do infinitely more.

According to IMDb, "A team of scientists aboard the International Space Station discover a rapidly evolving life form that caused extinction on Mars and now threatens all life on Earth."
Or if it's the tv series you're talking about, "A former police officer returns to the force after having been wrongly imprisoned for years."

To be happy - that’s my motto.
Life is short and sadly can be cruel and savagely short.
Have no regrets
Money stuff things don’t matter one jot
Time passes so quickly before you know it 40/50/60 heck then your into your 70’s and wonder where did it all go.
Having kids is a great thing

OP, why don't you study philosophy? Lots of very clever people have been asking this question for two or three thousand years.
Bertrand Russell's History Of Western Philosophy is a good place to start.
Spinoza is my hero.
Actually Russell himself is a hero of mine. Not Spinoza. I don’t do old full-of-silly-and-abstruse-assumptions philosophy. Russell was in a different league, however. Up there with Magnus Carlsen and the like.Bertrand Russell's History Of Western Philosophy is a good place to start.
