2010/11 A4 Quattro 2.0TFSI a good buy?
Discussion
Hello, hoping you can help!
I’m looking at a couple of B8 2.0 TFSI Quattro A4 Avants from 2010/11 - we need a larger car and these are I think fairly good value for money around £9k at 90-100k miles.
I’ve seen lots of reports on heavy oil consumption on the 2.0 - looking at the history, one of them hasn’t had any work done to fix it so whilst unlikely to exist 9 years on, the dealer offers a 3 month warranty under which this would be covered apparently.
It’s also S-Tronic which is the same as DSG I believe - if serviced correctly is this likely to throw some massive bills around this mileage?
So my questions before I view tomorrow -
Anything in particular to look/listen for?
Are used car dealer warranties honourable?
Anything I’ve missed that these cars are known for large bills?
Cheers!

They're good cars but for that money I'd be buying a Mondeo in Titanium X Sport form, it's a better steer well equipped & with considerably less miles too.

Another very good alternative is the Insignia VXR:

Update for anyone who finds this.
Viewed one today, hadn’t been through their servicing check yet. Oil level empty (despite an oil change 2k miles ago), so presumably consumes a lot. Despite being on 95k it’s also never had a gearbox service, which these DSGs should. Strong rumbling also felt through steering wheel most noticeable when stationary and turning wheel.
Definitely a nice drive though!
