Popped in yesterday to have a look at new 720s Spider. There was no customer parking which is awful. Had a look at the 720s and uneven panel gaps both on coupe and far worse on spider actually I'd go as far as saying unacceptable in a new £40,000 car.

A young Mcl staff member walked over and asked me if I needed any help which was nice but he barely looked old enough to have a driving licence which doesn't inspire confidence. This is one of the better McL dealers? Aston Martin and JLR next door in same complex/ownership gave whole place an impersonal feel. Staff struggle to smile or say hello to prospective customers.

As an aside 4 brand new 600LTs there for sale if anyone looking for one. Mcl still have a long way to go if thats how a new 19 plate Mcl 720 Spider is delivered. Interestingly the fit and finish on the 600LTs looked far better unfortunately do not like the general shape of that car. Having said all this with future cars needing to go lightweight and electric i think Mcl v.well positioned. Those carbon tubs in a small city electric vehicle/hybrid are the future I reckon wink

Hmm, not sure if you are trolling or not.

Never been to Hatfield so can't comment on them, but Glasgow were excellent with me.

Does anyone who is genuine really go to look at a circa 300k car without at least phoning in advance? And to dismiss the salesman because of his age says more about you than him IMO.

For what it's worth, when I arrived at Glasgow, I was also approached by a young salesman, who give him his due knew all the cars and options inside out. Answered all my questions I had before passing me onto who they had me down for an appointment with.

Even in dealerships like Audi these days, you don't get approached by a salesman. Last time I went in it was only the receptionist on the floor and you had to ask to speak to someone. Personally I prefer that, it means I was left to have a look around without feeling the pressure of a salesman standing over me.

Trolling you sure? Can peeps not post honest impressions - go there first, see the wee boy and then tell me you’d buy a £300k off him pls? An appointment? GTF. As for McL Glasgow wouldn’t buy a car from Douglas Park if it was free

I had my V12VS serviced at the new AM Hatfield site recently and my contact kindly hooked me up with a 570s Spider as a courtesy car for the weekend, dealt with James on the McL side and he came across well. I’d certainly look to give them my business in future as after the extended test drive I have to scratch the McLaren itch!

That definitely says a lot about you... a wee boy... i'm sure if you'd have bothered to have a conversation, you would have probably found that he knows everything about the car, and he could've answered all of your questions. ^^^as already said above

I bought my cars off of a younger salesman at a McLaren Dealer in the South West.. very knowledgeable, and yes he answered every question I had.. kept me up to date with delivery timings etc, and it was a great experience.

What makes me laugh is that you always see people moaning on here about how they have been pre-judged for going into dealers wearing rubbish clothes, or turning up in their wives old fiesta, yet, there are obviously people who still pre judge salesman for their age.

Have to say I recently purchased a 600lt from Hatfield and the whole experience was brilliant. They were operating out of a temporary structure whilst their new building was completed which did limit parking but it was never an issue.

I found James, Craig and Rob a credit to the brand and very keen to try and dispel a lot of the preconceptions people have coming from other marques.

I was only there yesterday and have a few sports cars/GT cars so not bought anything yet. Very interested in Mcl with Porsche making it so difficult for customers to purchase new GT cars. Can PH member ^^^^^ who bought del miles 600LT perhaps kindly PM me price they paid pls? Also if anyone has had a del miles 720s Coupe recently from Mcl Hatfield very interested in hearing price paid . Seen on here posts that del miles 720 S coupe can be had for £180k and 600 LT for £140k. Sounds unbelievable when you look at list.

Not saying your experience is wrong as everyone has an opinion but simply a bad taste post .

Never dealt with Mchatfield but everyone who knows McLaren knows they are producing a fantastic high end car site but it’s not yet finished.

No point running off to a social media site imo moaning, much better to have a word with the sales manager in a mature way if you are a genuine purchaser

Snowflakes PLC. Sorry to the PC brigade. I'm fussy about both people I deal with and the build quality of the cars I purchase. Odd that smile

Do you expect the salesman to own his own McLaren in order for you to justify buying from him?!

Ahahaha clearly first post didn't help although I see his point and a bit of more professionalism expected but nowadays it's ok to let people browse around, did it yesterday as well but not here to complain.

Yes let me know where I can pick a 600LT even for 180k, not down to £140k, I am too rich! Ahahhaha

I bought my 720S from Hatfield, and they have been excellent throughout.

Agree with OP on the panel alignment on delivery though, however Hatfield adjusted it 100% perfectly.

I have been to this dealer and personally found them to be excellent so as with most of the responses here I also have had a better experience than what the OP has suggested. Yes I also recall there was a young chap there and on asking him a few questions on options he pretty much was able to give me all the information I needed so no problems there.

From a personal viewpoint I found Mclaren better than many other dealer experiences from the usual luxury/exotic brands where some of them even act like they are doing you a favour by sparing time for you on your visit.

I have found Hatfield excellent to deal with and the general view of owners that I have spoken to echos this, my main experience is of the service side.

Having said that I have spoken twice to the salesman that I suspect you are referring to, I have found him very knowledgeable and helpful, the second time I saw him was at a Porsche event, so not in a McLaren environment or with my car, but he still remembered me and my car from a 20 min conversation several months previously, not many people would be bothered enough to do that. I would have no hesitation in spending money with Hatfield
