Assuming that all original ID plates etc are still there, there shouldn't be any issue.

Aah.......added Cali DMV number will be a problem, without the associated paperwork. When was it imported and was it by you or did you buy it in UK as a project without any of the original import paperwork?

There are no companies as such that will help, has to be owners club accepted by DVLA.As said in previous post, join the Pre-50 AAC which will be you're best bet.
You could just contact the Cali DMV and ask for a copy of what ever the DVLA require?

I'm not that clued up on it, in specifics, but as far as I understand, at some point in the past, California (and other states) decided it wanted 2 VIN numbers, and when people tried to register rebuilt/restored or out of state old cars, i.e anything without a continuous California title, especially ones that had seperate chassis which usually only had a VIN on frame not body the DMV forced you to fill a form application for an assigned VIN. Sadly this might mean that DMV issued this car a VIN which means it was considered a SPCNS (Specially Constructed Vehicle) which means it'll be entered into the system as a car built in what ever year the DMV VIN was allocated, as opposed to a 1957 car, which will cause you lots of problems if so.arn22110 said:

Fine and true if all the original import paperwork was included with the sale, but it does depend when you bought it.The DVLA have decided to more strictly enforce their rules in the last 18 months compared to the past couple of decades, when they'd taken a somewhat slack approach to applying them beforehand.
That is having a big impact on imports, especially from USA (regardless that its come via Holland first)
As I said, join Pre-50 AAC and then contact their team that deal with this for help.

I have no idea or experience about this at all, but.....in a conversation with one of these guys the other week about something completely different, he mentioned that they had a vast experience of registering imports/kits etc.
