There seem to be a few PH with C63s who have been useful in providing information to support my purchase.
I’ve run my C36 for the past 13 years, although I’ve been hankering after a C63 since they came out in 2008.
I decided to buy as late as possible in the production run. I prefer the interior layout of the facelift car, and more efficient gearbox. At the moment, and considering the performance, the car has precious little inherent issues, so I’m expecting reliability akin to my C36.
I bought the car last November to coincide with my half century and retirement, so its had only gentle use over winter. I wasn’t particularly looking for 19” wheels, but they look ok with the white bodywork.
Pictures were taken by my son on the North Yorkshire Moors on Boxing Day...

Thanks for the replies.
Initial observations are that the car is everything you’d think in terms of performance. It’s quick enough for any real-world situation, yet demands a smooth, neat driving style to make progress. An A45 by contrast would be much less demanding to drive briskly.
Economy is more than reasonable for a car of this displacement and weight. 27mpg is easily achievable on a motorway, and 23/4 mpg more usual.
Tyre wear is negligible in the 2500 miles I’ve done so far, and the ride can be too firm on occasion. The car has had replacement wheels since new (before I bought it), so potholes are best avoided. The r129 SL is a total revelation when it comes to comfort...
It’s currently on 45,000 miles with full dealer history and a further 18 months AMG warranty to run, so in its prime.

I’ve found the main dealer experience (Sytner, Mercedes Teesside) to be superb with both the initial sale and subsequent service.

Must be the most boring thread ever, so apologies. The car is used daily, and I’ve now had it almost a year.
It’s been turn-key dependable as is to be expected, average fuel economy is 23, so not so shabby.
The only downside to ownership are the sheer number of people who see me as a personal threat to their fragile egos. Zafiras ( obviously), Ford Rangers and tdi- equipped lower-management fodder feel the need to demonstrate some kind of impotent ability, but I can live with that.
I’m planning on keeping the car a while longer, as I can’t think of a practical alternative. Still recommended...
Looks spot on! I have the slightly err...detuned version in coupe form...

I think your wheels are what mine needs. Rather than a refurb I think I'll upgrade next year.

Just to close this readers cars thread, I’ve now sold this C63.
I’ve had 2 and a half years fun from it, and I’m sure I’ll miss its huge noise and presence.
For those interested, I’ve covered 14,500 miles and averaged 22.7 mpg over that time.
However, whilst it may just be me getting older, I found the ride on 19” wheels a little too much on occasion (rural North Yorkshire roads don’t help), and I didn’t enjoy the grief it seemed to attract from some sections of the motoring public. Not just the usual boy racer baffoonery, but the middle-age under-achiever in his (always a bloke) rep-spec Audi / BMW / C220d etc etc who seemed to see the car as a threat.
Anyway, I hope it finds a good home.
It’s acquitted itself perfectly, and will live long in my memory.

I've always fancied one of these at some point to tick off the list but i think the image problem they have had always put me off and you've kind of confirmed they've got one.
I dont really like attention or to stand out, ill probably still do it one day but in estate form on 18's if i do!
