Just looking at a car thats been stood for some time, and the calipers are rusted solid and the disks are badly scored so its time to replace the lot. I assume these are Ford parts but can anyone verify what model they came from please ? Are they the same across the model range?

Presuming you mean a Chimaera, the standard brakes on all varieties are Ford. But the size changed on the 500 models and on all models from the facelift in 1996, so you'll need the diameters to check. Fronts went up from 240mm diameter to 260mm. Unsure about the rears but you should find with some searching. I think they went from solid to vented at the rear too.

They are from a Sierra mostly, as are the hubs, but the larger later ones are from the XR4i and Escort Cosworth.

I have a set of 260mm discs and calipers that I took off mine end of last year when I changed to Ford ST150 setup. Not wanting silly money, PM if interested and can send some photos.

This was a horror story- the rear disks where shot, and the rear pads down to the metal. The brake pedal had gone solid, and it felt like the cylinders where not moving at all, which makes sense as the rear was metal to metal, so no give. The front pads however showed no signs of any wear from new, and the disk was unmarked apart from rust where it had been stood. It turned out the front caliper nipples where rusted in, so the system could not be bled, and there was no hydraulic fluid the the front to actually operate the brakes although the previous owner had changed the disks and pads. The owner was new to TVR and had been blasting around on the rear brakes only !

Thanks TVRS Stef, ill let the owner know.
