Saw the following yesterday Sunday 22nd May at the Nurburgring (maybe some of these were you?):

1) 3 or 4 GT3RS's on trailers from the UK

2) Who's yellow 993 Turbo with reg: K** POR?

3) Shame circuit got closed at about 16:30 about 2 mins after I bought my ticket

4) Most Porsches there were from the UK

5) Biker refused at the ticket barrier for wearing jeans

6) Saw a Belgian Mitsubishi EVO drive into the bushes in the overflow car park. He was doing about 10mph

7) Saw a nice UK 964 Turbo Cab in metallic blue with a 3 letter reg that must be worth as much as the car.

Not sure I really get the trailering a road-legal 911 to the Ring/Spa thing. Kind of defeats the purpose of the GT3 in the first place i.e. enjoy drive to and from track. Would a used GT3 Cup car not make more sense then. I managed to drive my Radical to Spa from Scotland OK........although was lucky it didn't rain much.

I tend to agree. I can understand taking maybe another car and trailer in case one breaks down or whatever but I'd drive the others there. Not sure where in the UK they came from but were certainly in the same group since they were in the car park together and left in convoy together.

I agree, the drive there and back is as much a part of it for me (if not more) as the track-time.

I guess it may be they have their cars so set up for track they are undriveable on the road, or maybe it's so they can keep the mileages down (more likely) - another 'mint GT3RS with only 4,000 miles' anyone?

I was there Friday & Saturday - in a group with a White Carrera 2.7RS (actually a replica but still nice) and blue Jag S-type R. Loads of Brits, K ** POR there both days I think. Track shut for accident 4pm Saturday too, but did open again briefly later. Yellow Lambo ran his side skirt over the kerb in the car park and beached it. German couple in convertible 3 series BM doing no more than 30 mph the whole way round - scary - ..... and passed a maroon minibus with a roofbox. Lots of mental brit bikers. Great day both days. Least I got round quicker than Clarkson in the Jag ('cept he was in a diesel ....)

Cheers

A person walking their dog could get round quicker than Clarkson. Even if the dog had short legs....

Out of interest, what did all you guys (or maybe gals do about insurance whilst you were on the ring? I'm trying to get out there early June and I'm not going to be covered by my normal insurance - do you lot just wing it or buy seperate cover for the day?

Thanks

There was a large contingent of the Titanic group there on Sunday under the JournoGimp Racing banner.

From there they are off to Spa for a couple of days before coming home.

The reason for the trailer was that one guy was in Monaco for the GP and flew into Spa on Monday, one was on Holiday in Europe the week before with his family, and the other was on a very agressive setup. The 4th was making up the numbers. I would have been the 5th, my reson was I could not afford the time out of work and was going to fly in for two days.

Unfortunatly I am stuck at my desk so even that idea didnt happen!

A large contingent did drive down, aparently there are 20 RS's at Spa today, and they are all taking great pleasure in telling me what a great time they are having and what a shame I had to miss it...

Bastards, Hate them all.

I'm sure K**POR is a mate of mine but it's not a turbo. It just has a GT2 rear wing/aero pack. The car itself is a 993 C4 but taken out to 3.8 (i think) by Tech 9.

Hey, I saw the 964 cab, very nice. Also the yellow 993 did have a GT2 wing.

Mine was the silver 993tt with reg R** TBO in the car park near the main entrance just the other side of the roundabout parked close to a white Hummer

I was there on Sunday.

I was there with a bunch of guys from The titanic GT3 register, on a day trip from Spa.

I came back last night, and most are coming back today/Friday.

I had Yellow GT3 with Black wheels

Great day out.
