Can u check the wiring going to rear door is not broken?
I had the same problem on a vectra, smashed the old lock off to get the door open, replaced with second hand lock, shut the door and the dead lock operated. Back to square one.
I checked the wiring and found the wire going to door broken, once soldered together, deadlock de activated.
Worth a try.

I had the same issue with my VW Bora.

I found that gently heating the door would allow it to unlock, so try heating it with a hair dryer (all over) but be wary of blistering the paint.

If you know exactly where the mechanism is, you could try focussing heat in that area.
