A mechanic will quickly be able to tell if it's just the cable gear linkage.

If it's not that then I'm afraid it'll be a gearbox out job to have a look.

It reads like the punctuation has fallen out of it.

So you've already had it looked at by a garage, but didnt like the potential costs associated with their diagnosis.

Now you want us to (re) diagnose it over the Internet?!

Have a day off.

Are you going to DIY fix it? No much point in listing stuff to inspect and check if you aren't......

Hi mate just heard of the mechanic and he hasn’t Got the time to take the box out so where in the process of moving the vehicle to another garage we think it could possibly be the clutch master cylinder but just a guessing game at the moment

I would have thought if the issue was with either the master or slave cylinder, the clutch would not disengage whereas you seem to have the opposite issue.

I'd say either the clutch has worn out completely, it has somehow been jammed so as to be permanently disengaged (less likely, and I'd expect the pedal to feel a bit off), or the gearbox has sheared something (seems highly unlikely).

Hmm interesting thoughts hopefully we will find out soon enough we have had a brief check underneath but no signs of breakage or anything eye catching could possibly be something inside or as you have said with the clutch
