A couple of weeks ago I picked up a Liquid Yellow MK3 Clio RS 200 from Steve Murr, a specialist Clio seller near Brands Hatch who trades as R-Sports Cars.

The car is a 2012 model having just 47,300 miles at the time of collection and 2 previous owners. In fact, the previous owner did just over 3,000 miles in the time he owned it. The car, and the paintwork in particular is in fantastic condition. It has some minor stone chips around the front bumper, but that is to be expected of a car of this age and mileage.

Steve had done the cambelt, aux belt, water pump and a full service on the car; while no doubt reflected in the sale price, saved me a fair amount of time and hassle getting the work done on the car right after purchase. I was a little concerned as the car was missing some of it's original paperwork, however just a couple weeks later the original owners, who had got in contact with Steve to see if the car was still available, were kind enough to send me photocopies of all receipts and work carried out - including a replacement gearbox at 40,000 miles.

In the last 6 weeks I've put about 1500 miles on the car, but otherwise haven't done much to it other than changing the gearbox oil, keeping it clean and topping off the oil. I would like to take it to the Nurburgring this summer, as I like to go at least once a season, as well as some other trips around the U.K and Europe.

That said I have no intentions of turning it into a track car given it's condition and mileage. There are a load of Clio 172s and Clio 182s out there that would be much better suited for that, and so I will no doubt end up with a MK3 Clio RS 200 and some kind of 172/182 Cup track car by the end of the year.

Just lovely. I had a white RS200 Cup and it's probably the only car I regret selling. Yellow is the best colour too!

Nice. Very much starting to appreciate these more, they make so much sense in the UK. Wouldn't commute in one but as a car for fun I'd take this over a lot of more expensive and more powerful metal. Looks in good nick too.

Yup, great combo. LY, cup and recaros is pretty much the perfect spec. I had Alien Green on mine it it was ace.

Very nice. I had a red MY12 as I was too impatient to wait for an Alien Green. Found it a bit too eager and loud (general road noise and motorway drone) for a daily driver if I'm honest, got rid rather quickly.

Congratulations. I've an Albi blue one of these tucked up in my garage with only 25k on the clock. It's a 'full fat' but with recaro bucket seats and cup chassis. It's a great car and makes a good weekend/track car for me.

I'm not sure I'd want to live with it every day as even with 6 gears the motorway wants a 7th gear but I've an old Merc for that duty so they compliment each other well.

Is that an aftermarket side skirt your car has ?

Congratulations OP, these are cracking cars! (I was quite tempted with this one!)

Those are genuine Renaultsport side skirts....

Cracking car. Still miss my RB197, even as a now MK4 Trophy owner!

That’s lovely. Liquid yellow is a fab colour and the seats set it off a treat.

Looks like a clean example. Keep it Clubsport! Always fancied one of these after my 182.
