Evening...

I need some help in finding something to assist me in the gym, to give a little background info I’m missing most of my fingers on my left hand, and struggle with gripping things, especially gym equipment. I don’t wish to use weights for squats etc, just equipment like the pull down machine and rowing machines.

Ideally I need something that I can strap around my wrist and loop over the bar of the equipment. I’ve found something like the image below, but I’m a bit loathe to pay the £60 odd unless I really have to. Any info/assistance is greatly appreciated.

Not sure how those work.

When someone broke one of my fingers, I used these things: https://amzn.to/2VoLmYV

Took a bit of time to wrap up but worked well.

You might find these more useful, though, if you're missing fingers: https://amzn.to/2ZWbfOh

Actually, with the first wraps, if you wrap them the "wrong way round" you can tuck the final bit under your palm and that should lock the bar securely in its place.

A friend of mine is a disabled strongman and he uses them, seems to work very well for him.
Only other thing I can think of is these:

Cheers chaps, never thought of proper hook type things if I’m honest. I’ll get my hands (*intended) on a pair of those when I can.
