Paying by credit card

Possibly, due to CC charges, however one would assume that if it was an issue it would have been mentioned at some point when the order paperwork was being done.
We won't take anything more than £1000 (deposit) on a CC and ask for the final balance to be paid via a bank transfer.
A quick Google shows the merchant credit card charge around 0.5%, which would cost him £22.50.We won't take anything more than £1000 (deposit) on a CC and ask for the final balance to be paid via a bank transfer.
Does that sound about right?

In my recent experience, many dealers no longer accept major payment by CC for car sales. The limit varies but £1,000 appears to be the max. This is based on Honda, Ford, Mazda and BMW main dealers.
They all wanted the balance paid by bank transfer.

The dealership I work for also don't take card payments over £500.
We sell an average of 75 cars a month, if for arguments sake said those cars sold for £5000 each and they were all paid for by credit/ debit cards then we'd be looking at fees of £45000 over the year just to take those payments based on average fee of 1% between credit and debit cards.
It just isn't justifiable any more unfortunately.
