Hi Porsche Community,

Has anyone fitted a sports exhaust on their 991.1 GT3 RS? If so, can you advise what exhaust and set up you have gone for and the reasons why...

I am stuck as to what to go for and looking for something that is quality in sound over OEM, yet retains the clarity in terms of being pleasant whilst in car and on longer journeys (i.e. more than an hour). Thanks!

Sharkwerks are a great option on the 991 GT3 & RS.

We've sold lots here in the UK. They fit great, sound fantastic, utilise the original valve assemblies so quiet if you want and then release the best sound with the switch, fit with the original tailpipes, easily reversed back to standard if required. No downsides and the best benefit is that you get the GT3 soundtrack at a much lower licence friendly RPM range.

Not an RS but you get the idea https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yJPPYr1BSY

PM me for more info & prices.

Have a listen to this one if you don't mind watching a youtuber. Sounds like an RSR. Listen from 7.40 wink

JCR are great. I have one of these on my 7.1 GT3.... https://www.jcr-developments.com/porsche/product/9... Amazing quality - the welds are a thing of beauty, and it sounds fantastic (significantly nicer tone and character to the stainless steel bypass I had on previously).

Johnny is a nice chap too smile

As Steve pointed-out though, you'll be stuck with Donington on unsilenced days (BookaTrack), or with having to swap the original centre muffler back if you want to track your car.

I have JCR's Titanium center bypass and exhaust tips on my 991.2GT3 and it had no trouble passing the noise tests at Oulton park last March..

That's good info for the OP and 991 GT3 owners.

I don't know whether the up-stream exhaust system/cats are significantly different between the 991 and 997, or whether it's the engine differences, but there's no way my car would pass any noise tests. Not an issue for me as I have no plans to track this car, but it would be interesting to get it measured nonetheless..

just buy a module to keep the flaps closed

cargraphic do one, and it will always pass the static tests as it does not rev over 4k.

JCR also make some DB reducers so a non issue all told for track.

•100% Titanium Construction
•-0.06kg (0.13lbs) Weight Reduction vs OEM
•Cuts dB Levels by (upto) 5dB
•150mm X 100mm Titanium Silencers

then flaps open on the road all the time , win win.

Thanks all! My car is going into OPC this we for a few bits under warranty. Will then decide which sports exhaust to go for (if any) in the coming months. Have a few lined up to hear first : )
