New Porsche Discount - Will this work?
Discussion
My daughter, 12, loves maths, physics and german.
Do I steer her in the direction of an engineering degree ... at a top German university ... in the hope she secures a job with Porsche ... in 10-12 years time ... thus making here eligible for a staff discount on a new car? Does anyone know the level of discount Porsche offer their employee's (or the pushy, yet doting Dad who will have funded her to date)?
All seems perfectly logical to me, but daughter might have other ideas e.g. teaching ... or McLaren!

I do t know the staff discount but I remember about 15 years ago going to a presentation with the head of Porsche Consulting. He did a talk on applying manufacturing process design to banking and then ended up with a final slide saying ‘of course we have the best company cars in the world!’ and showing his entire team all standing next to their 911 company cars. Although I suspect these days they get a Panamera.
Normal workers get discount for VAG cars, according to this site:
https://www.porsche.com/germany/aboutporsche/jobs/...
They can rent Porsche cars tough, on a weekly or monthly basis.
According to a motor-talk.de thread, certain Porsche cars can be bought with up to 20%. "Jahreswagen" with 10%.
But this only applies to base models only, apparently. But this is debated and an employer states that there are no discount other than senior management.
From a certain pay grade on, you can lease Porsche cars with very attractive deals.
