wills - who to use

Sooo need to get our wills sorted as we dont have any.

we're engaged with an 8 year old and we own our house.

wheres the best place to get one - should I go to a well known solicitor firm, a local small one or 1 man band or a will pack from whsmiths?

ie whats the difference between them all?

Also consider getting lasting power of attorney (LPA) sorted at the same time.

Best to ask around from family and friends for personal recommendations (I used a close friend / medium size solicitors recommended by the wife of my old school friend).

Apart from deciding on the Executors and Legal Guardians for your Will, if you have any pensions, check your pension beneficiary nomination are updated too.

Good point. You can instruct your solicitor but most likely pay a premium, or you can register your LPA (separately for health and finance) directly on the GOV website for £82 each.
