Hi all,

Looking to potentially switch my business bank account to one of the following;

- Clydesdale
- Coop
- Metro bank
- Santander
- Starling
- TSB

It’s part of the business banking switch and I will receive £3000 as part of the process. Does anyone use the above and can comment on how they are to use.

I do 99% of my banking through an app, so this is essential. TSB apparently have an app but it only lets you check the balance and not make any transactions which wouldn’t suit me very well.

Clydesdale have an app and it allows transfers and payments etc. Easy to set up new payments as well.

If you could pick 6 banks that come the next recession will be in severe trouble it’s those 6.

They are going to give you 3k?

& see TSB internet debacle last yr.

Stick to the big boys if you have borrowings/deposits... no one wants a facility called in or your cash on account to vanish.

My business doesn’t have any borrowings and as long as I don’t go above £85k I’m covered by the FCSC aren’t I?

NatWest (my current) bank was bailed out by govt a few years back and as part of the deal they had to encourage some of their business customers to join other banks to create more competition in the market. The £3000 is an incentive for me to move (although I’m considering whether it’s worth the hassle as I’m currently happy with NatWest).

What’s painful? Some business qualify some don’t, I have no idea about your business, what it does, where it’s based, what your turnover is etc, so why don’t you just go and type 4 letters into google and have a read, or speak to the bank you want to deal with and have a chat with them.

Actually here’s the link...

I know for a fact that my business is covered, so it’s really not an issue.
