Hi,

I have a ‘52 Vauxhall Corsa, which has water leaking through the front passenger footwell after heavy rain. I was just wondering if anyone knows anyway of fixing this issue as cheaply as possible?

Thanks

Blocked drain holes in scuttle panel.

Or a hole in the floor.

Thank you. Is the scuttle panel something that is easy enough to clean yourself, or is it best to take to a garage?

Notorious issues on Corsa C's.

It's either BCM cover, perished seal from wiring through the bulk head or most commonly the seal around the brake servo. Easiest fix is to jimmy out the glove box and attack every single part of the back with silicon.

Easiest and best fix is to get a new car hehe

In the end I scrapped my corsa, the only thing that was at fault was the water leaking, I miss that car frown

Remove carpet.

Identify leak.

Fix leak.

Only you can see it, we can't.

After making sure the two bulkhead drains are clear,

Buy a tube of https://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-roof-gutter... and definitely not tigerseal or silicone, you'll never get stuff apart again.

From the engine bay side,

Take the bcm box and lid off (see the picture on this thread https://rmsmotoring.com/forum/threads/corsa-c-00-0...

You might find the remains of a rubbish foam seal in there, clean it off.

Apply a bead of sealant around the bcm cover where it meets the bulkhead and refit.

Apply a bead of sealant around the lid, where the rubber seal is, and refit.

iirc, I did similar with the housing for the cabin filter too. If you get leaks into the driver's side, the seal around the brake servo or it's mounting panel has failed.

This video covers the driver's side, you'll get the idea for the BCM box, which is less involved - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChzIbEmGfgU
