Hi All,
I recently just purchased a 996 turbo cab which I LOVE. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to make it slightly louder ?
It sounds nice but my 991 Carrera 2 was louder. My friend has an AM Vantage and he has attached a unit to the fuse board which he can optionally keep the exhaust valves open which makes it louder when he pleases ?
Is there anything like this that can be done for the 996 ? I am keen to keep it as close to original as possible.
Thanks!

Your only real option on a Turbo is an aftermarket exhaust, which isn't cheap (it's a big lump of stainless steel and Porsche tax definitely applies!). I had Speedtech on my Turbo S which sounded lovely and didn't drone; Europipe and Klein are also highly recommended. Depending on what cats are fitted to the new exhaust, you might need the ECU remapping to keep the post-cat lambda readings in range; I had no problems with 100 cell cats but plenty of others have needed a remap.
