I currently have 3 businesses all in a similar sector, and my staff flip between them.

We have a bespoke furniture business, a kitchen showrooms and a joinery/diy cut to size company.

3 different names, 3 websites, 3 instagrams, 3 invoices etc.

Tempted to have 1 main umbrella name and then branch the others off.

So i could have Blakeatrons woodwork - and sub divisions of furniture, joinery, kitchens, training etc

My only worry is that I have 16 years reputation in one business and 7 in another.

I dont want to keep any of the existing business names really!

You still have that experience which you can legally continue to include in your promotions regardless of the change of name.

You could have all three web addresses point to dedicated pages on an umbrella / group website - thereby only having to maintain one website - but that one website has dedicated sections.

You could have the social media channels all post images / banners stating to now follow the new group social channel. Also link to the new group social channel in the bio sections of each of the three current channels.

You could arrange your businesses to be under one banner, finanancially / legally; but there’s some downsides to that. But then you could invoice from the group name. One name, one invoice template, logo etc.

You could then simply carry on trading as is with the current individual names above the door, enjoying the reputation you’ve built over the years.
