Bmw 3 series towing

Hi,

I currently have a BMW M135i which I'm looking to change for a fun tow car. I have recently bought a 22ft power boat which weighs around 1000kg.


Currently looking at a 2014+ Bmw 330d / 335d M sport x-drive.

My issue is i have tried to tow with a 2017 Mercedes E class Amg line estate and have found that its very low. I actually scraped the tow hitch getting it off the driveway.


Has anyone got any experience with towing with a 3 series?

Can't help with the 3 series but the e class experience sounds unusual. I have a 2014 AMG line e class estate and the rear height is not low, it has self leveling rear air suspension so stays at a decent height.
The only time I had an issue with rear ride height it was during towing and turned out to be a faulty air suspension system not raising the ride height sufficiently. Quickly fixed under warranty.

Very interesting. This E class has a westfalia tow bar and sits very low off the ground. I'll get a picture for you
