Guys

Appreciate a view on the above please. Had an oil change today at main dealer under service pack. Solid yellow EML now displayed but car showing no faults on Idrive display. Ie ok no faults. Any ideas on this and in particular whether they could have over-filled although no dipstick to check manually. Car is 2015 with 40k miles. Was a little surprised that they used 0w/30 rather than 5w/30 grade oil although think they are both LL04 so unlikely to be an issue. May all be an unhappy coincidence but not so sure

Will give them a call in the morning as will need a code read but just wondering if anyone had experienced similar.

Thanks in advance

No dipstick? My 2014 F10 530D had one, back on left side of engine.

When did that stop?

0w/30 & 5w/30 are the viscosity index of the oil at 40 & 100 deg c IIRC & nothing to do with whether the oil is LL04 spec.

If your service specs say the car should have 5w/30 then that is what they should have used.

If they have filled it wrong then it is entirely possible that is the cause of the light.

If it was like that you shouldn't have driven it away though.

Thanks Both

Will check on dipstick as assumed no longer present given electronic gauge in menu

I did query the 0w/30 which they confirmed as correct oil grade

0w30 and 5w30 are both approved for the OP’s car.
