I have a MR2 roaster which I bought last year did around 32MPG around town around the 40MPG on a long run, I once got 48 on a run to the lake district. I drive rapidly but don't push my cars.

I took it off the road end of November and put it back on the road beginning of May, I have not serviced it yet but it has only done 2500 miles since its last service,

This last week been using it for a 40 mile motorway run at around 70MPH and 80MPH but inly getting 34

any thoughts anyone

Probably stating the obvious here but tyre pressures dropped over winter storage?

40 miles isn't long enough to get a meaningful figure unless you have done the exact same journey under the same conditions for comparison. You need to go through a few tanks worth of fuel with similar use before you start trying to draw conclusions.

As another owner of an MR2 roadster, 34 doesn't seem too far out for a short motorway run.
