Sunday afternoon, I can hear bikes with special sports exhausts on the bypass, neighbours with sports silencers on their lawnmowers, a strimmer in the distance, and a helicopter or two that seem to have left exhausts and silencers at home.

Take a trip into the countryside (what's left of it).

I just came back from a blast in the Chimaera. Nice loud Sunday. smile

Edited to add, now sitting here with the window open and it's very tranquil here in East London. Just fed the birds and squirrels.

Helicopters and light aircraft have buggered off, bikes seem to have finished too (or mYbe just a change in wind direction)

Lawn bloke has now shut off his mower after a couple of hours (or maybe just run out of petrol)

Back to some late afternoon bird song. wavey

Few years back I’d have been kept awake all night by social housing neighbours screaming and fighting etc, then music and general obnoxious behaviour.

If we were really lucky we’d get constant dog barking and the noise of dog shagging from their puppy money maker

Haven't heard a thing apart from the odd little plane and the neighbour's DB4 coming back from somewhere all day.

Contributed to the noise with an RX8 that failed to start, electric hedge trimmer round the garden, then petrol mower. Sound of superbikes being caned up the road nearby was drowned by Griffon-engined Spitfire blatting overhead en-route back to Coningsby.

Not far from me is where a road goes from 30mph to a relatively open NSL. There's an Italian supercar service centre on the corner too.

This afternoon I quite enjoyed what I thought were two F430s, what sounded like a 355, and something with a V12 howling their way through the rev range.

I then heard someone on a hair dryer moped, presumably having stolen someone's handbag, so I closed the windows and sat in peace smile
