I should be passing in a loud, yellow Spitfire about 9:30. Travelling solo this year so please, no photos of me running around the car and back again to pay the toll
Get a tag

Much easier

I jump off the Autoroute at Abbeville anyway, so only the one toll booth to deal with.

IS it? Tried that last year as passenger had one - don't know if it was just how low the car is, or how steep the windscreen is vs. modern cars but usually involved us coming to a stop and my passenger waving the tag around the windscreen till it managed to trigger.

Ah if it's only one then it's not worth it, I've had spitfires I don't remember the windscreens being odd..I jump off the Autoroute at Abbeville anyway, so only the one toll booth to deal with.
The rest of the car mind

Nothing odd about them, by '70s standards. All I know is we cruised up to the barrier with the tag up behind the mirror, got closer and closer, until we had to stop and my passenger started waving it around to get it to open. He'd used it a few weeks before in his modern without issue so I put it down to another case of modern technology being incompatible with classic cars - like the Eurotunnel number plate reader that's NEVER understood my black/silver plates
Hi Cyril,
For the first time ever, we are not going to be coming through on Thursday, so no Jaggy McJaaaagface, no Cerbera, Griff etc....
We'll be coming through on Wednesday in an attempt to have a more relaxing weekend!!
But it seems Jaggy won't be there as he's, er, died!!!
It won't been the same (I think we've done 23 consecutive trips on the Thursday) but times change!!!
More drinking time!!
Sorry to miss you - I hope others will wave in our place!

I’ve just seen yours, my last one was that colour, bloody thing nearly cost me my leg. Still love them though.
