Hey guys

I'm finally doing the IOMTT and I can't wait.

Problem is that I now live in Australia.. So I'll be looking to either buy a bike used privately or from a dealer, or hire a bike..

Pros and cons being:

Used private
Pros: could be a good price, could be as expensive as renting, with the bonus of getting the money back
cons: don't know what I'll buy will be problem free, no time to sell so will have to store or get a mate to sell it

used dealer:
Pros: probably more solid than a private buy (potentially). may be able to make a buy-back deal
Cons: no gaurantee on buy back, may not be open on the sunday I return, if so see above options. more expensive

hire
Pros: ease of pickup/drop off
cons: deposit price (not a problem per say but a bit cagey about trusting them to return the deposit without being in the country to chase up - so needs to be a reputable company although I assume they can reverse the pre-auth in front of me on drop off)

So to that end, wondering if anyone knew of any reputable companys within half an hour of heathrow airport?

Looking to hire a panigale, 959, s1000 or similar.

Ride Drive are in Woking, which is fairly close to your requirement. You could do worse than speak to Iain or Keith, they're very helpful chaps.

I have a vested interest, in that I was at Uni with one owner and know his partner (his brother) well, but my statements still stand!

Have a chat with Spyderclub - they always have a fleet of bikes transported to the island for their own club members

Found them last night funnily enough, Iain seemed a nice bloke so top of the list at the moment smile Cheers
