Hi folks,

Apologies if this has been asked before - I did a search and nothing came up.

I have a 2002 E46 M3 Cabrio that needs a thorough service (as opposed to a quick inspection and oil change) and a few bits and pieces sorting. I'm obviously looking for someone who understands what to look for and knows what they're doing.... Can anyone recommend a trusted BMW/M car specialist in the Herts/Bucks area?

Many thanks!

D.

Might be a bit too far for you but I've used Scotts Performance Cars in Dartford, just off the M25. Pleased with inspection 2 and general check up they did on my E46 M3 Cab. Look them up on Facebook to see the cars they have in.

Thanks, Tom.

Dartford's a bit of a hike for me - I was hoping to find somewhere a bit closer to home if possible.

Yeah, I was hoping for something closer to home - it'd be a good couple of hours to get there, and given that I'd have to leave it there for a day or two getting back home would be a mare.

I always used to use DMWorx in Stoke Mandeville when I lived in Watford. They used to have courtesy cars, and were superb in the many times that I had to visit.

Ah - now we're talking! That's definitely more accessible. Thanks for the recommendation - I'll check them out.

A quick search bought up Protech Cars in Aylesbury - I have no experience of them but maybe worth a chat?

I might be able to help out a fellow TVR owner if you need a lift in or out as I'm reasonably local?

Cheers, Steve - that's very good of you! Not been in a Griff for a few years. :-)

I'm waiting for a callback from Russ at Dmworx, but depending on how that goes I'll also check out Protech.

These guys are the best around, the only place I take my bmws, as said Phil the top guy really knows his stuff, great service, and experience all round.

DM Worx didnt seem at all interested in my custom, when I tried them first, and I was told they didnt do any engine work buy a guy working on an m3 s54 engine on the floor! I found the attitude of the 2 owners distinctly crappy.

Found CPC and very happy, cant recommend them enough, they did a bottom end rebuild on my Z4MC and serviced and maintained it until I sold it.

Thanks for all the feedback, guys!

I've contacted CPC and DM Worx but neither of them have got back to me yet; fingers crossed one of them wants my business.

I’d recommend CPC having used them for my Z4MC and have had a lengthy chat with both the owner (Phil) and a couple of the mechanics there. However, they aren’t great at answering the phone and/or getting back to you. I’d suggest calling in the morning (8:30-9am) as the afternoons seem to get busy.

I know it can be frustrating, but for me the enthusiasm and professionalism at doing the actual work more than made up for it.

Not sure if they do courtesy cars, I’ve always walked to the tube after dropping off my car as I work in London most days

Thanks - this is actually really good to know as I've spoken with two people there now and sent two e-mails and I'm still waiting for a reply.

I've now spoken with Phil, and the car's booked in to CPC - thanks again everybody for your help.
