I've just about come to an end with the Avon ZZ3's that were fitted from new on my Tamora.

I naturally thought I'd replace with the same manufacturer, but there seems to be a lot of gossip and advertising from Toyo these days.

Anybody have any views on what is the better tyre. I believe they're pretty much the same cost and so I'm struggling to make a decision.

I assume you have 16" wheels.. given it came with Avon? I switched 1k miles ago from Avon to Toyo - to see if there was any difference. When the car came back - it was much much better, but unfortunately I cannot tell you if the tyres made the difference. Racing Green did the alignment at the same time and that could have done it.. or a combination. So I can only suggest do both and you should notice the difference... hope that helps..

Toyos are good. Or Goodyear F1 GSD3s as fitted to the latest cars (assuming you can get the sizes you need). I've got them on my T350 and they're brilliant.

Do you really put your tyre pressures up that far for the track? Have you tried driving on 30/32psi on the road? I wouldn't recommend it.

I put a few extra PSI in my Chimaera's tyres, but that was more due to the higher profiles moving around and the car having crap suspension which mean't you eat tyres very quickly. The Tamora/T350 does not have this problem.
