F11 535i xDrive Buying Advice
Discussion
Good evening everybody,
Just a year ago I bought a new Mini Cooper S (last pre LCI F56) to replace my broken Audi S4 4.2 V8 Avant (B6 2004).
The Audi has been a great, great car but it's gearbox exploded at 200'000km (and it had some other small niggles). Out of some crazy idea, I decided to go for a 3-door Mini, although I realistically need a bigger car.
I got a 997 C2 and a '67 Volvo P1800. So another car with only two doors is not really sensible.
The BMW ticks a lot of boxes and seems to be a sensible choice.
Tomorrow I will be looking at this 2012 535i xDrive Touring M-Sport. It's got 75'000 km/47k miles on the clock and seems to be pretty good equipped.

So what do you think?
I know very little about BMW, so every tip on what to look out for is much appreciated!

That's a great looking car with a decent specification too - it has the front comfort seats & the panoramic roof.
One of the only weak points of the F11 is the rear suspension airbags. They wear out & won't hold pressure. You will end up having to replace them every 5 years or so. They're not expensive though, particularly aftermarket units. I assume there's a decent warranty with this one though?
We don't get the F11 (or F10) as an X-Drive here in the UK, but it would probably be ideal for the winters you get.
This is the build spec for that car. Pretty much fully loaded. https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/c697936
