Courier prices - UK overnight

Afternoon all,

I'm just wondering what sort of prices you're paying for the likes of DPD and Fedex for an overnight parcel to the UK Mainland excl. Highlands & Islands.

We're sending 5-10 a day, and being charged £5.25 +vat for Fedex and £5.60 +vat from DPD.

From a chat with our DHL international rep just now it seems that might be a bit high.

Any feedback appreciated.

We pay UPS £5.25 plus a few pennies for fuel (that changes daily).

Up to 20kg, anywhere UK mainland.

That rate used to get us AM deliveries, but they recently dropped that to next day only.

UKMail (DHL) £5+ VAT for next day up to 30kg

We did get a quote from fedex for £4.20 upto 25kg next day Mainland but haven’t decided to change yet

Crikey, we send 15-20 a day and are paying £8.71 with DPD for next day before 12.

Think it may be time to look elsewhere.

Pre 12 will normally be dearer than next day, you don't have a bad rate there.

DPD £5.35 next day up to 30kg

20-50 parcels a day.

APC £5.35 up to 20kg plus fuel, what I like about APC is all depots are independent, and you can actually call them to solve issues.
If you can bag it and it's under 5kg, it's £4.50, most do cheaper bag services.
(Based on 5 parcels per day).

It always amazes me that I can send a letter from here in Florida to somewhere 5,000 miles away in Alaska for about $0.55
