tts is all I can say.

Policy increases by approx 20% from £275 to £320 and Bennetts say not to worry as it’ll automatically renew. No it won’t you cowboys!

Nothing has changed. Online comparison sites get it down to around £200 for the same level of cover.

What a fecking scam.

Grrr, rant over.

No scam ...

They make offer .. you decide if you want to accept offer ... they act on your instructions ...

Auto-renewal when the price has gone up, it's a bit of a sharp practice really.

The scam for me is that they cannot give a reason why it has gone up other than other insurers offer new customer discounts... It’s a total scam.

Similar happened to me this year for renewal. Given that I'd been told my policy was loaded last year as it was a brand new bike - and the most powerful I'd ever owned - that logic didn't fly.

Renewed eventually approx 20% lower than last years premium. There's no prizes for loyalty, so I tend to move every year now.

I've never had a company do that without sending me a letter or email to say what next year's premium will be. I'm also pretty sure that you can ask them not to automatically renew it if you like.

They did send me letter telling me “not to worry as well auto-renew your policy” in fairness but the whole insurance industry is a massive money making scam. Australia have the right idea where the vehicle insured rather than the driver.

Not really as I would not be surprised if he phoned his Insurance company and they would miraculously reduce the price quoted.

It’s the same every year car and bike. Renewal quote takes the p*ss, go on the comparison sites for better quotes, phone to cancel and they miraculously manage to beat your best quote by about a fiver. I just take it as part of the process but it’s annoying. I guess enough people just auto renew to make it profitable for the insurance companies.

They discount to acquire new customers, then it reverts to normal price and many cant be bothered changing so just accept its gone up....or you shop around each year and see who is doing discounts to acquire new customers ....rinse and repeat each year if you want the best deal each time.

I had the same this month, moved from MCN who’s auto renew was going up by 20%. Saved 20% instead by moving to Carol Nash and will be getting a free DNA kit.

Fully comp on my Aprilia RSVR1000 with legal cover and breakdown cover £170.00 for the year.

Nope. Still not a scam. They offer, you accept or reject. Auto-renewal? They tell you in good time, and you have time to search around.

This is a scam.... MCE have sent me an e mail making considerable changes to my cover for no reason other than they can.so I buy a certain amount of cover, pay, then they change the cover. Naughty!
