Just took delivery of my new 570S. Great way to start the weekend. Started by looking at getting a used 2016, changed to a 2017 as wanted the updated instrument cluster. When I went to the dealer I ended up with a brand new 2019 after applying some man maths smile

Congrats! Someone else on another thread had something similar, he was looking for a used one and ended up in a brand new one with a big discount, similar story I presume?

Ha ha that's exactly what I did. Went in for a 2016 walked out with a 2019. Somehow it worked out.

It was still a decent chunk above a used one but yes discount off new made me stop and think - and justify it in terms of warranty. They also threw in first annual service for free and added full frontal XPEL film protection. Ultimately I thought there was enough value in the offer to stretch for a new one.

Pretty much the same as over there - depreciation is a major issue and no independent servicing. The country is so vast that the dealer network availability can be a major challenge. I’m in the North East just over the border from New York so luckily have a dealer very close to me. People in other parts of the country have the closest dealer hundreds of miles away.

McLaren isn’t wisest choice from a financial point of view but after driving one I had to have it.

Congratulations to the new owner and what a car to drive in a stunning colour,my favourite thumbup

Therein lies the problem though for used Mac’s.The owner wanted a used car when Man maths dictates the used option is not worth buying over the new car!

This is what’s killing residuals though, discounting to force new cars into the market where really the purchaser was a used car buyer!

Yeah it seems crazy....I'm hoping to start looking for a used one later in the year but if the deals offered on new ones are so compelling that it makes more sense to go that route it has to be considered..I'm fairly conservative in my application of man math tough!

Cheers that is really informative - must confess I was after buying a 2017 570s but drove out with new - the orange sealed the deal smile

Totally agree the drive is absolutely astonishing - like no other car I have previously driven...

Couple of questions...how much is 'man maths' and where can I buy it? It seems to make sense every time someone uses it so I definitely need to get some for my next purchase.
What is the cost of a pre-reg new 570S, are they around £130k or less (spec dependant) ?

Nice number plate too.

I first misread it as EX 1, which made me smile.
